A Boat-Based Cycling Tour of North Holland & Friesland

This is a fabulous boat & bike tour of the North Sea beaches and Ijsselmeer (“Lake Yssel”). From onboard your floating hotel, the MS Serena, you will visit the provinces of North Holland and Friesland and your cycling routes will take you through a gorgeous landscape of river banks, lake shores and sand dunes, nature reserves, meadows, polders, windmills, picturesque cities and, of course, tulips!

The Dutch province of North Holland is largely located on an island between the North Sea, the Wadden Sea and Ijsselmeer. Much of the area was recovered from the sea in the 17th century through the use of hundreds of windmills, many of which still remain. Travelling through the former lakes and marshes, the rich history of the region can still be seen. The mills, quaint houses, shops and traditional Dutch crafts will bring the past to life, and you will marvel at the unique flora and fauna, the fantastically diverse landscape and the picturesque harbour cities.
