Croatia Bike & Boat Tour: National Parks and Islands of Dalmatia
Croatia has a beautiful coastline with thousands of islands, reefs and bays. This relaxing bike & boat tour from the port of Trogir, near Split, will visit two national parks and the islands of Central Dalmatia. Highlights include the UNESCO protected old town of Trogir, Primošten, Šibenik (with its famous cathedral), Zadar and the National Parks of Krka Waterfalls and Kornati Islands. Cruising aboard one of our romantic motor yachts, the experienced and friendly crew and knowledgeable tour guides will show you the charm of the Adriatic in our own special way.
This bike & boat tour of the National parks & Islands of Dalmatia is rated as “Moderate”. The bike tours are generally quite short, but they cover hilly terrain. The routes are nearly all paved and are designed to ensure that you spend most of the time away from traffic. This is a great tour for cyclists of all levels, including beginners and children (aged at least ten), with a reasonable level of fitness and some experience of cycle touring.
This tour is primarily a guided group tour, though the possibility to cycle on your own may present itself. There is always the possibility to not participate in a tour and to spend the day on board the boat or sightseeing.
The tour includes accommodation, all breakfasts, four days on full board and three days on half board. Above and below deck cabins are available on a selection of three ships, according to dates of travel.
A comprehensive information pack, route information and emergency support are included. We can also provide hire bikes, including electric bikes and bikes for kids.

The captain reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organisational requirements.
Day 1 (Saturday): Arrive Trogir & Sail to Rogoznica.
The port of Trogir is less than 15 minutes from Split airport. You can board the ship between 2:00 & 2:30 pm.
By 3:00 pm you will be cruising the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic. You will sail to Rogoznica, a village on a small island that is connected to the mainland by a dam, where you will spend the first night.
Day 2 (Sunday): Rogoznica – Primošten – Šibenik - Skradin, Approx. 13 miles / 20 km.
In the morning you will cycle from Rogoznica to Primošten, famous for its beautiful vineyards. From there the ship will sail to the historic city of Šibenik, where the Krka River flows into the Adriatic Sea. After visiting the UNESCO listed cathedral of St. James and the lovely old town, you will cruise past the lower course of the river Krka and follow the river bend to reach the magnificent port of Skradin, where the ship will drop anchor for the night.
Day 3 (Monday): National Park of Krka - Vodice, Approx. 12 miles / 20 km.
This morning you will cruise and walk to the most famous part of the Krka National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty with unique waterfalls. In the early afternoon, the boat will continue to the harbour of Vodice, a well-known holiday town on the Dalmatian mainland, famous for its heritage, fabulous beaches and buzzing nightlife. From here you will mount the bicycles again for a circular tour.
Day 4 (Tuesday): Vodice - Island of Murter - Nature Park Telašćica, Approx. 16 miles / 27 km.
In the morning you will cycle from Vodice to Murter Island, passing the lift bridge at Tisno that connects the island to the mainland. Cycling along the coast, you will pass through quaint old villages before reaching a small landing place where you will again board the ship and cruise through the Kornati National Park; a “nautical paradise” of crystal-clear waters and enchanting islands, islets and reefs.
After visiting Kornati, you will continue on to the Telašćica Nature Park. In the evening a walk through the park will take you along the stunning cliffs of the island.
Overnight you will stay on the Island of Dugi Otok, with its picturesque villages, secluded beaches, majestic cliffs and lush vegetation.
Day 5 (Wednesday): Island of Dugi Otok - Zadar, Approx. 16 miles / 25 km.
After breakfast and a short cruise to the town of Sali, you will cycle across Dugi Otok on a virtually traffic-free and panoramic road, with countless unforgettable views of the islands and sea.
You will meet the ship to sail to Zadar. For centuries, Zadar was the political, cultural and spiritual centre of Dalmatia. In Zadar, you will be led on a guided tour through the lanes of the lively old centre, with its Roman and Venetian ruins, fortified walls, 9th-century pre-Romanesque Church, 11th-century convent and 12th-century Cathedral.
Day 6 (Thursday): Islands of Ugljan and Pašman - Island of Zlarin, Approx. 20 miles / 33 km.
During breakfast the boat will cross the channel of Zadar to the island of Ugljan. Today you will have time to explore the interconnected islands of Ugljan and Pašman. You will cycle along the east coast, always with beautiful views to the mainland and the sea. Afterwards, you will join the ship and cruise to the coral island of Zlarin.
Zlarin is one of few islands on the Adriatic Sea that do not allow access to cars. The island is carpeted with fig and cypress trees, and parts of the interior are uninhabited and covered with thick forest.
Day 7 (Friday): Island of Šolta - Trogir, Approx. 9 miles / 15 km.
In the morning you will sail to the island of Šolta. This peaceful island is still mainly farmed by local families, and the spicy smell of lavender and rosemary will follow you throughout the whole tour. From the village of Grohote, you will cruise back to Trogir, where there will be time to visit UNESCO listed old town before a farewell dinner.
Day 8 (Saturday): Disembarkation in Trogir.
Your Bike & Boat Tour of the National Parks and Islands of Dalmatia finishes after breakfast today. Disembarkation is by 9:00 am.
If you would like to spend more time in Dalmatia or anywhere else in Croatia or the surrounding area, we would be delighted to help. We can arrange guided tours, extra nights and other services. Please ask for details.

National Parks & Islands of Dalmatia Bike & Boat Tour: Ships
The fleet for the National Parks and Islands of Dalmatia Bike & Boat Tour consists of three ships, each offering varying levels of comfort. One element which all of them have in common is the care taken by the captain and crew to ensure that your holiday is a fabulously unforgettable experience.
The chef is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and either one or two hot meals a day. Catering consists of 4 x full board and 3 x half board (breakfast and lunch or dinner, depending on the programme). The first meal is dinner on the day of arrival and the last meal is breakfast the day of departure.
At 27 x 7 m the Kapetan Jure built in 2000, counts as one of the smallest ships of the fleet. The fine detail etched into the wooden ship mirrors the seafaring affection of its captain. The spacious salon is decorated with shells, amphorae and showcases full of sailor’s knots. At the bow a mermaid keeps watch for the safe navigation of the ship.
